Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles – The FLHSMV website includes safe driving tips on its Safety First page and also provides a page of vehicle insurance questions and answers.

Florida Highway Patrol – Call on the FHP if you have been involved in an accident on Florida highways. They will come and make an accident report, which can be helpful in determining who is at fault in causing the crash. You can also stay up-to-date on traffic conditions by visiting this link.

AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety – This website is maintained by the American Automobile Association and offers traffic safety links of its own, as well as research and information on teen driving, distracted driving, elder driving and other vehicle safety and safe driving issues.

Bureau of Transportation Studies – This office of the U.S. Department of Transportation maintains automobile accident statistics and information.

Distraction.gov – This is the official U.S. site for distracted driving, with public awareness campaigns on important topics such as texting while driving and handheld use of a cell phone while driving.

National Highway Traffic Safety Administration – The NHTSA covers just about every traffic safety issue there is, including impaired driving, aggressive driving, older drivers, teen drivers, and motorcycles.

Motorcycle Safety Foundation – The MSF provides motorcycle safety information and links to safe rider instruction, including courses for beginners, advanced riders and future safety instructors.

American Motorcyclist Association – The AMA website includes an abundance of information for bikers, including a brief overview of Florida motorcycle laws. Another good resource for riders in Florida is this page of motorcycle safety tips at the FLHSMV website.

Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration – If you were involved in a truck accident, you may want to find out whether the trucker and trucking company were in compliance with FMCSA regulations.

Safety and Fitness Electronic Records (SAFER) System – This database allows you to search the accident history and safety records of a particular trucking company.
